Remember, there are many contractors and engineers out there that are not registered with the Engineering Council (not chartered) and may not apply for necessary licensing, OR GIVE YOU A WARRANTY. If renovation starts without the appropriate permits, the authorities can and will halt the project, as well as imposing a fine on the owner of the property!
